College: Learn About It and Prepare at Feb. 28 Thinking College Early Fair
The 5th Annual Thinking College Early Fair on Feb. 28 at Harding SeniorHigh School is for families of students in middle school and highschool who are wondering about college. For example, if youhave ever asked yourself can I/my child get into college? Can we affordcollege? Is college right fit for my child? Then Thinking College EarlyFair is for you! Best of all, it's free and there's a free lunch, freeshuttle buses and more!
What: 5th Annual Thinking College Early Fair
When: Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Were: Harding Senior High School, 1540 E. Sixth Street, S aint Paul
Who: Parents and students in grades 6-12
Welcome: Hmoob, Soomali, Español and English
- Hear about financial aid, scholarships and careers after post-secondary from the experts
- Meet representatives from state, community and private colleges
- Learn about admission requirements and what it takes to succeed
- Many colleges and universities, including historically black colleges, will have representatives waiting to talk to you
What else? Boxlunches will be served. Free child care is available for children ages3 and up. There will be door prizes awarded at the end of the event.
Superintendent Meria Carstarphen and Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will welcome students and families to the fair.
Free shuttle service is available! Departs at 10:30 a.m. from the following: - Neighborhood House, 179 Robie S. E.
- Mount Airy Rec Center, 690 Jackson St.
- Sylvan Rec Center, 77 W. Rose Ave.
- West 7th Community Center, 265 Oneida St.
Return shuttle leaves Harding Senior High School at 1:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
