Students from Saint Paul’s Arlington and Como Park high schools are organizing and leading a forum about teen tobacco prevention for North End neighborhood residents from 7 to 8:15 p.m., March 9, 2000, at the Galaxy Coffee Shop, 1061 Rice St.,Saint Paul. The coffee shop is a student-operated business.
Student groups from the two high schools planned the forum as a way to explore community attitudes about teen tobacco use and prevention. North End community members of all ages are invited to the forum, which is a continuation of on-going efforts by students at both schools to reduce tobacco use among their classmates.
Sponsors of the forum include Arlington’s Students Spreading the Word About Tobacco (SSWAT) group, Como Park’s “No Butts About It” students, Fresh Force, student councils, North End Health Clinic, North End Family Center, North End Elementary School, the North End Business Association and other North End organizations with an interest in the future of the city’s students.
