Search Firm

  • Feb. 8
SPPS and its search firm, Ray and Associates, conducted a survey between Dec. 15, 2016 and Jan. 23, 2017. The district also hosted four meetings for parents, students, staff and the community to gather additional feedback. Another meeting included all members of the district’s various Parent Advisory Councils.

Feedback from the community will be included in a Superintendent Profile - a document used to recruit the right candidates. Information gathered from the community meetings and survey will be used:

    • To identify the top qualities the community is looking for in a new superintendent to assist in recruitment of candidates.
    • To inform the Board and influence their decision on finalists, and ultimately their selection for superintendent.

    Nov. 14
During a special Committee of the Board meeting on Nov. 14, the Board agreed to bring forth a motion to hire Ray and Associates Inc. to conduct the search for a new superintendent. The Board will vote to approve the motion during the regular Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The contract with Ray and Associates, Inc. is expected to be finalized in December with active recruitment for superintendent candidates to begin in January.

The search firm will work closely with a design team that is creating opportunities for community engagement. The feedback gathered from the public will help inform the superintendent search process in collaboration with Ray and Associates, Inc.
