Mr. Sam DiVita
Hello! I am teaching three levels of oral skills classes this semester. I teach level 1B, 1A and 2A Oral Skills. This is my twelfth year of teaching and I am very happy to be working with the awesome students and staff at LEAP High School. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Italian Literature and Language from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I worked in the evenings and took care of my two children for 8 years after I finished college. After moving from Chicago to St. Paul in 1999, I eventually attended Hamline University in St. Paul. I earned my teaching certificate from Hamline University in 2005. In 2014 I completed work for my Masters of English as a Second Language at Hamline University. I graduated in May 2015.
My interests include speaking Italian, gardening, sailing, camping, travel and spending time with my family. I also like to go for runs and long walks around the lake with my dog, LuLu.
This past summer, three LEAP students attended a YMCA BOLD trip in Ely, Minnesota. They camped and paddled for 5 days in the wilderness!
