Mentoring in SPPS:

For information about districtwide mentorship programs visit the Chosen to Achieve website. Here you will find information on Hmong, Latino, American Indian, Karen and Somali Mentoring Programs along with general SPPS mentorship information.

Tutoring in SPPS:
 
The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is coordinating a city-wide tutoring initiative—the Tutoring Partnership for Academic Excellence which works to ensure high-quality, consistent tutoring for students in Saint Paul Public Schools. Caring adults are invited to positively impact student success and community development by becoming volunteer tutors through the Foundation’s Tutoring Partnership. Click here for more information.

Volunteering in SPPS:
 
Volunteers bring valuable talents, interests and time to help students reach their full potential. By giving freely of their time, volunteers also send students the message that they matter, and that their future is bright. Click here to learn more about SPPS volunteer opportunities.
 
 
Student Internships:
 
SPPS offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs in the areas of Family and Consumer Sciences, Industrial Technology, Agriculture Education, Work Based Learning, and Business Education. There are 110 CTE Course’s district-wide, all of which are aligned with National Standards. Click here for more information.

 

Other Opportunities to get involved include:

Citizen's Budget and Finance Advisory Committee (CBFAC)focuses its work on strategic school district issues with budgetaryimpact. Members are nominated each year by the Board of Education.

Capital Expenditure Advisory Committee (CEAC) reviews and comments on major capital expenditures planned by thedistrict which are referred to this committee from the superintendent,the administration or the Board of Education.  Click here to download the application form for this committee.
