Key leaders in place for 2008-09 school year Saint Paul, Minn – Saint Paul Public Schools has appointed the following principals for the 2008-09 school year. Their effective start dates are Aug. 4.
- Ann Johnson, Saint Anthony Park Elementary ¬– previously was assistant principal at EXPO for Excellence Magnet School in Saint Paul
- Jill Gebeke, Chelsea Heights Elementary – most recently served as principal of Cleveland Junior High School in Saint Paul
- Michael Piersak, Bridge View – comes to Saint Paul Public Schools from Northeast Metropolitan Intermediate School District 916 in White Bear Lake where he was manager of special services
- Adrain Pendelton, Galtier Magnet School – most recently served as an assistant principal intern at Murray Junior High School in Saint Paul
- Belinda Green, Maxfield Magnet School of Academic Excellence – comes to Saint Paul Public Schools from the Anoka-Hennepin School District where she was an assistant principal at Monroe Elementary School in Brooklyn Park
- Judith Kaufmann, Adams Spanish Immersion – previously was assistant principal at Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet School in Saint Paul
- Kate Flynn, Benjamin E. Mays Magnet School – most recently was assistant principal at Como Park Elementary School in Saint Paul
In addition the following appointments have been made in key central office positions:
- Sharon Freeman, Executive Director of Elementary Schools – she is a former elementary and middle school teacher, and former principal who most recently served as director of Adequate Yearly Progress and 4-Year-Old Programs for Saint Paul Public School; since March she has served as Interim Executive Director of Elementary Schools for Saint Paul Public Schools
- Dr. Barbara DeMaster, Executive Director of Elementary Schools – she most recently served as director of curriculum, instruction and assessment at St. Louis Park Public Schools. She has been an instructor at Gustavus Adolphus College, an elementary science specialist and an elementary classroom teacher.
