Literacy Consortium Hosts Adult Basic Education Summit

Who:              Superintendent Meria Carstarphen, state legislators, and leaders of the Saint Paul Community Literacy Consortium, which includes 14 community-based program providers
 

What:             Presenters will highlight the vital role of Adult Basic Education programs in supporting Saint Paul’s economic development and show the impact of eroded state funding on literacy programs serving a growing number of recent refugees and immigrants.  The summit will also include testimonials from adult learners, a panel discussion, and an opportunity for questions and answers.

When:            9-10:30a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006
