Resources Subjects | More than 300 Four Seasons A+ Elementary students ponder a world without arts in original musical production 7/15/2008 10:12 AMMedia Advisory Office of Community Relations Contact: Howie Padilla Office: (651) 767-8104 Cell: (612) 251-5714 July 15, 2008 Saint Paul, Minn – Students and staff members from Four Seasons A+ Elementary are tackling a world without music in Q and the Quest for Music, an original production that includes all of the school’s more than 300 students. The production follows Q on a mission to bring the Music People to a colorless, lifeless Earth without songs, dance or joy. The original score and lyrics were created by Four Seasons music teacher Darrell Baggenstoss with additional lyrics and choreography by dance teacher Sidney Pudwill. “This is truly a phenomenon,” said Four Seasons Principal Howard Wilson. “You might expect this kind of production out of high school arts students, but it really gives our elementary students a chance to put on the ultimate performance package, showing what they know and have learned in their years here.” Q and the Quest for Music is the latest production by Four Seasons students and staff. The school’s annual tent production regularly draws more than 1,000 audience members. Some students have been involved with the school’s annual production since entering Four Seasons in kindergarten and are now lead actors and key members of the production crew. Four Seasons A+ Elementary is a year-round school where teachers use the A+ arts model to help students learn in all subjects by integrating daily arts instruction in music, dance, drama and visual arts.
