Ms. Bolopue

Hello and welcome to the 2016-17 school year at Highland Park Senior High! I am very grateful to have been welcomed as a new staff member to the Highland community this school year. Last year I was lucky enough to spend time co-teaching Accelerated Biology, as well as Anatomy and Physiology, during first semester at Highland Senior. During the second semester I was able to work in a 7th grade science classroom, co-teaching Accelerated Biology and Life Science. Courses I will be leading this year include Biology and Physical Science.

While I initially started my university studies as a Neuroscience major, I soon discovered I was not meant to work long hours in the lab. Although, I learned a lot from my time in research, my true passion was working with student peers. I had the opportunity to lead lecture and study sections of general chemistry for pre-nursing students at Century College, as well as for pre-veterinary students at the University of Minnesota. I went on to complete my Biology B.S., with emphasis in Chemistry and Psychology. Looking for a more impactful role in teaching, I enrolled at the University of St. Catherine to complete my Master of Art in Education, while also being accepted in the Twin Cities Collaborative, TC2, a year-long teaching residency with emphasis in urban education.

I am very much looking forward to getting to know the students in my classroom this year. The best way to contact me is via email, feel free to reach out with any questions you may have about the school year.

Cheers!
