Students from Cherokee's Extended Day Learning music class shared their new vocal and violin skills at the El Sistema Minnesota Benefit Concert this month. They were joined in the performance by student musicians from Battle Creek Elementary and the Minnesota Youth Symphony (MYS).
Students from several classes at Cherokee made May Day baskets and delivered them throughout the school neighborhood. The May Day basket tradition involves filling small homemade basekts with flowers or treats and leaving them for friends and neighbors to find on their doorstep as a happy springtime surprise.
Communication and collaboration are key ingredients to the success of our students. Our teachers use a variety of formats, such as newsletters, notes, phone calls, email, and conferences, to keep you informed about your child’s progress and classroom happenings. Please check your child’s backpack often so that you do not miss out on important news. - Melisa Rivera
