SPPS Board of Education approves 2009 - 2010 calendar
Saint Paul, Minn.- The Saint Paul Public Schools calendar for the 2009-2010 school yearis set and was unanimously approved by the Board of Education Tuesdaynight.
Key dates within the school year include:
· Start of School (Grades 1-12): September 8, 2009
· Start of School (Pre-K and kindergarten): September 10, 2009
· Winter break: December 23, 2009 - January 1, 2010
· Spring break: March 29, 2010 - April 2, 2010
· Last day of school for students: June 11, 2010
Dueto the late arrival of the Labor Day holiday (September 7, 2009), someadjustments had to be made from past years in order to ensure theproper number of school contact days. After carefully consideringseveral options, the Calendar Task Force, which included teachers andbuilding administrators, chose to shorten the winter break.
Afull version of the 2009-2010 calendars for traditional and year-roundschools will be available Monday, November 24, 2008 at www.spps.org.
