|  | Saint Paul Public Schools Board of Education to Announce Candidates for Superintendent of Schools 3/20/2006 12:35 PMSaint Paul, Minn. — The Saint Paul Public Schools Board of Education is
expected to announce candidates for the Superintendent position at the
upcoming School Board meeting on Tuesday, March 21, at 5:45 p.m. at 360
Colborne St. in Saint Paul. Once announced, the information will
be posted on the district Web site at www.spps.org.
The candidates are scheduled to be interviewed by the school board and
community representatives on March 27 and 28. Candidates also
will participate in a public forum in the William R. Dunn Great Hall at
Arlington High School, 1495 Rice St. on Monday evening, March 27.
Details will follow when the candidates are selected.
“Selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions we
make as a board,” said Elona Street-Stewart, Saint Paul Public Schools
Board of Education Chairwoman. “We want to continue the positive
momentum we’ve built for our students in the last decade, and finding
the right leader who can build on our success is vital for our future.”
The Board of Education expects to make a decision about a new
superintendent the week of March 27. Saint Paul Public Schools
began a superintendent search in fall of 2005 upon the resignation of
former Superintendent Patricia Harvey.
