Media Advisory Office of Community Relations Contact: Howie Padilla (651) 767-8104
Saint Paul, Minn – For the first time in several years, Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) has released its annual report outlining where the district has succeeded in reaching high standards it set for itself in key categories. The district’s Strategic Plan for Continued Excellence is at the heart of the report which shows where SPPS is in regards to meeting targets outlined in the Strategic Plan’s measurable outcomes.
The report is a step in the district holding itself accountable in a transparent fashion. Superintendent Meria Carstarphen spent time this week going over the report with district staff and community members while giving her State of the School District Address. A recorded version of the address can be viewed on Saint Paul cable channel 16 or downloaded from the district’s Web Site.
“Our data show us that we as a district are experiencing pockets of success, but that we have much to do to meet all of our targets and benchmarks in the coming years,” Carstarphen said. “I remain optimistic because we are in the process of making significant changes this school year to improve outcomes for students who traditionally have not performed to standards.”
