|  | Saint Paul Public Schools seeking input on 2008–09 budget 5/16/2008 5:17 PMMedia Advisory Office of Community Relations Contact: Howie Padilla - (651) 767-8104 May 16, 2008 Saint Paul, Minn – Community members are being asked to give feedback about the 2008–09 budget following a shortened Board of Education meeting Tuesday, May 20, 2008.
The proposed solution to balancing a projected $10 million deficit includes $7 million in cuts to District and school budgets with the remaining $3 million coming out of the District’s fund balance. The proposed budget can be viewed at the District’s web site, www.spps.org.
Also available on the District’s web site beginning at noon Wednesday will be a feedback survey regarding the proposed budget.
The purpose of the Budget Input Session and online survey is to get feedback on the District’s proposed budget prior to action by the Board of Education in June. The input session will begin at 8:15 p.m. and will include a presentation followed by facilitated break-out sessions in English, Hmong Spanish and Somali. Input from the session and feedback survey will be presented at the June 10, 2008 Committee of the Board of Education meeting.
