| Welcome Students! | | | | Click on the image above to view MCA toolkit items sent to schools in March. The Web site includes electronic copies of some "toolkit" items and MCA II sample questions. | Our students are special. Because they come to our schools from all
over the world, they bring new perspectives and ideas to classrooms. To
support students as they learn and grow, we provide an array of
activities and resources.
Why MCA? Show What You Know
This year we are
continuing to raise awareness about the MCA II testing by building on
last year's theme: Why MCA? Show What You Know. The Minnesota
Comprehensive Assessments—Series II (MCA-IIs) are the state tests that
help districts measure student progress toward Minnesota's academic
standards and meet the requirements of No Child Left Behind.
Beginning
in April, reading and mathematics tests are given in grades 3-8, 10 and
11 and science tests will be given in grades 5 and 8 and once in high
school, depending on when students complete their life sciences
curriculum.
Saint Paul Public School students are poised to show
that they know what it takes to succeed. Superintendent Meria
Carstarphen is urging students to prepare themselves to take the tests,
but also to take the opportunity to show that Saint Paul Public Schools
is the educational home to some of the best students in the state.
Activities
are a great way to have fun, make friends and learn. We're proud to
offer a variety of activities to help students get involved.
