The District's superintendent search consultants, HYA and associates, have been busy recruiting and screening candidates. The first round of interviews of the superintendent semi-finalists (who are yet to be determined) are set for November 13 and 14. The semi-finalists interviews will be public and will be conducted by the entire Board. Exact details surrounding the time and location are still being finalized.
In addition, finalist(s) will be interviewed on November 16, 18 and 19, with opportunities for them to meet a variety of members from the SPPS community, including staff and families. The community (staff, families, and community-at-large) will have opportunities to provide feedback about the finalist(s). The superintendent finalists public interviews (the week of Nov. 16th) with the Board of Education will be broadcast live on cable television and streamed on the district's website.

Superintendent Search Update 9/22/09
Superintendent search consultants from Hazard, Young and Attea recently presented findings of the Leadership Profile Report to the Board of Education. The report was generated as a result of input from District stakeholders in August and September. It is the foundation for determining the qualities expected in the District’s next permanent superintendent and will be used in the recruitment of candidates.
The Board of Education also began development of the criteria expected in the next permanent superintendent based on information from the profile report. A final version of the criteria is available here.
