Sept. 27, 2007, Photo opportunity:
What: Up to 75 volunteers from Hands On Twin Cities, 3M and the community will descend on Cleveland Junior High School, tools in hand, to help with landscaping, refurbishing of the playground and the painting of a mural. The painting will depict the school and community’s many cultures and will signify that when people walk through the school’s doors, they join the Cleveland Junior High School family. The event will culminate in the school’s Open House celebration.
Where: Cleveland Junior High School 1000 Walsh St. Saint Paul, MN 55106
When: Thursday, September 27, 2007. Kickoff is at 9 a.m. with projects continuing throughout the day. Open House celebration and picnic from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Why: The work is part of the September / October Corporate Month of Service, a national initiative to increase community impact through corporate leadership in volunteerism and community involvement. The volunteers want to show that the pride that the community, students and staff members have in their school will translate into a beautified, vibrant exterior.
