The Department of Educational Technology will host the fifth annual "Student Technology Showcase" from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Arlington Senior High School, 1495 Rice Street. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature students from 30 schools talking about, and demonstrating, how they use classroom technology to experiment, learn
Highlights of the showcase include: - Fourth- and fifth-grade students from L'Etoile du Nord who are blogging, in French, about current events, personal stories and homework assignments; - High School students who are deaf and hard of hearing who are using iChat and iCams to connect with one another and their teachers at the S.U.M.I.T. Program; - Fifth- and sixth-grade students from Highland Park Elementary School who are creating digital slideshows and movies
- Fifth-grade students from Battle Creek Environmental Magnet who are using portable technology, including palm handhelds and probes, to determine the water quality of the Battle Creek Pond.
