Saint Paul, Minn – Hundreds of the best artists, vocalists and musicians from Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) will showcase their talents beginning Tuesday, April 22, 2008 as part of the 17th Annual Honors Concert & Art Exhibit at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and the Minnesota Museum of American Art (MMAA).

Over the years, more than 6,000 SPPS students and their works have been highlighted. This year will include students performing works by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Ralph Vaughn Williams as well as musical selections originating from Zimbabwe and Jamaica. SPPS elementary and middle grade students will feature their musical talents in the Ordway Center’s Marzitelli Foyer from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.

The visual artists’ creations selected for the exhibit were chosen from original paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and other works submitted by students this spring. The artwork will be featured at a free exhibit running at the MMAA from April 22, 2008 to May 9, 2008.
