Get ready, MCA testing begins in April 3/21/2005 8:50 AMThe MCAs are challenging, state-required tests that measure if students are learning what is expected of them at their grade level.
The percentage of students (including those in various racial, language, income and special needs subgroups) considered proficient in grades 3, 5, 7, 10 and 11 is being used to determine which schools are making adequate yearly progress, according to the state.
In the future, MCAs at other grades will also be used to determine if schools are making adequate yearly progress.
