| Board selects William Finney to fill vacant seat 5/25/2005 10:35 AMThe Saint Paul Board of Education has selected former Saint Paul Police Chief William Finney to fill its empty seat. Finney, who retired as police chief last year, is familiar with the school district. He is a Saint Paul native who served on the school board from 1990 to 1992. He has a granddaughter at J.J. Hill Montessori and a nephew at Arlington Senior High School, and he frequently volunteers at Maxfield Elementary School, where he attended grade school. Finney replaces Toni Carter, who left the board after being elected to the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners earlier this year. Finney will serve until the end of the year. |
