| Saint Paul Public Schools to publish performance report in Pioneer Press Newspaper this Saturday 9/29/2000 10:20 PMSaint Paul Public Schools on Saturday, September 30, will publish its “Annual Report on Curriculum, Instruction and Student Performance” as required by the State of Minnesota. The report outlines implementation of the Minnesota Graduation Standards in the Saint Paul Public Schools for the 1999-2000 school year. Among the highlights of the report: • Scores on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments show a consistent climb over three years in both the third and fifth grades. • The number of eighth grade students who are passing reading and math Basic Standards Tests has increased every year for the past three years. “This report is just a snapshot of the progress our students are making,” said Superintendent Patricia Harvey. “While we have much more work to do, every indicator is showing that our students are making progress. In order to see what is really happening on a day-to-day basis, I would encourage our community members to visit our schools and the see the terrific work of our staff and students.” Later this fall, the Saint Paul Public Schools will publish a comprehensive report on districtwide progress toward meeting its strategic planning goals. |
