| Board of Education makes plans to fill vacant seat 3/29/2005 6:45 PMThe Saint Paul School Board held a special meeting Tuesday, March 29, to begin to put in place a process for filling the seat vacated by former chair Toni Carter. Carter resigned her position after being elected to the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners earlier in the month. The process for finding a new school board member will officially begin the first week of April when the position and an application are posted on the school district's Web site, www.SPPS.org. Those interested in serving on the Board of Education will have one month to submit their applications, which are due the first week of May. The board will finalize interview dates and interview questions at their meeting Tuesday, April 12. The entire process will conclude by Wednesday, June 15. The Saint Paul Board of Education is comprised of seven members who represent all of Saint Paul. The board is responsible for the care, management and control of the school district.
