| Next on 'Nick:' SpongeBob, Jimmy Neutron and Prosperity Heights... 6/3/2005 9:05 AMIt might sound strange, but sometime this summer students from Prosperity Heights Elementary School will share the small screen with SpongeBob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron. On Tuesday, June 7, Nickelodeon, a top-ranked children's cable television network, will shoot a featurette at the Saint Paul public school. Producers from the network will focus on how Prosperity Heights is promoting healthy and active lifestyles. Specifically, the school recently started a biking club that allows students to ride bikes purchased by the school with help from a "Let's Just Play" grant from Nickelodeon. According to Prosperity Heights Principal Sharon Freeman, students are very excited about the biking club, as well as the idea of appearing on TV next to cartoon icons. "It's been really exciting to watch the students get out and ride the bikes. Many don't have bikes of their own and some have never ridden before, so this is a great opportunity for them to experience and learn an activity that they can enjoy for a lifetime," said Freeman. "They're also jazzed about being on Nickelodeon." A specific broadcast date for the featurette has yet to be determined. |
