Alternative programs offer flexible hours, a variety of locations and alternative teaching methods that allow students the opportunity to succeed in a school environment that supports the unique needs of non-traditional learners.

AGAPE - Adolescent Girls and Parenting Education
Serves students who are pregnant or currently parenting. Child care services are available to eligible students.

Area Learning Center - Elementary
ALC-Elementary manages extended day, intersession, and summer session programs at all Saint Paul Public Schools elementary sites and partners with community organizations that offer academic programs for elementary age school children.

Seven different school locations to serve students 16 years and older.  Students may earn their high school diploma as full-time students or enroll part-time to earn credits needed to graduate from a traditional high school.

Serves students 15-20 years of age who have a strong interest in the arts.

Evening High School
Offers small evening classes for students 16 years of age and older.  Learners may enroll as full-time students earning their diplomas or as dual-enrolled students earning credits needed for graduation from a traditional high school program.

Gateway for Recovering Youth
Designed for students assessed as chemically abusive or dependent, who have completed a treatment program and/or have demonstrated the desire to maintain sobriety.

Gordon Parks High School
Serves students ages 16 through 20 who prefer individual and small group instruction.  This program is housed in a newly built facility featuring state-of-the-art technology and on-site health and social services and career resources.

International Academy - LEAP
This program serves students  who are new arrivals to the United States or who have limited English skills.  International Academy- LEAP helps students from 9th to 12th grade to earn their high school diplomas or helps them transition to a traditional high school, post-secondary education, or career opportunities.

Ronald Hubbs Center for Lifelong Learning
Offers classes for adult learners 19 years of age and older who are working toward earning their GED.  Also offers opportunities for adult learners to improve their English skills and prepare for post-high school education and employment.
