Beating the Odds
In Saint Paul Public Schools, we have identified our elementary and
middle years “Beating the Odds” schools based on four criteria:

  1. Adequate Yearly Progress on the State's NCLB Accountability System,
  2. MCA-II scores compared to schools with similar demographics statewide,
  3. A Challenge Index" that takes poverty and special education into account when comparing MCA-II data among schools within the school district; and,
  4. Individual student achievement growth on the SAT10.

Our goal is to recognize and learn form these schools so that we can
identify promising practices and apply what’s working across the system. To watch a short video profile of these school in action click on the links on the bottom of this page.
