In recognition of Interim Superintendent Lou Kanavati's 36 years of service to Saint Paul Public Schools, and to mark his pending retirement, Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman proclaimed that June 28, 2006 is Lou Kanavati Day. This honor is well-deserved, as Kanavati has worked tirelessly on behalf of Saint Paul students and staff as a teacher and an administrator. His last day is Friday, June 30, and he will be greatly missed.
