Monroe Community School and Linwood A+ Elementary families toured each other's schools recently as they prepare for next year's changes. The tours were led by staff members from each site and were opened by the schools' principals. Officials at Cleveland Junior High School and Farnsworth Aerospace Magnet have planned similar tours for their staff members. Sub-zero temperatures knocked out North End Elementary plans for a door knocking campaign to spread the word about next year's program there, but principal Hamilton Bell said Door-to-Door subcommittee members expect to go out February 9.
The Humboldt Junior and Senior High Leadership Team met Jan. 29 with environmental experts from Hamline University, Eco Education, The College of St. Catherine, Saint Paul College and Valley Branch Environmental Learning Center as members work through the vision of what will take shape at Humboldt Junior and Senior High Schools. And at Phalen Lake, a recruitment team will soon develop recruitment strategies for families in the school's attendance boundary.
In addition, a community based Homecroft Advisory Team is in the process of developing programming recommendations to present to the Superintendent.
