ServSafe® Food Safety Class

Course Description:
The Minnesota Department of Health requires most food service establishments to have a certified food professional on staff at all times. This course fulfills and meets the food manager certification requirements for the State of Minnesota. ServSafe training empowers you to protect against food borne illness, minimizes insurance costs, reduces liability and improves food quality.

This class is for you if…

  • You are currently working in food service and want a promotion; or want a credential to enter and move up in the food service industry – includes restaurants, hotels, schools, daycare centers, nursing homes, suppliers
  • Will attend class regularly

 Requirements:

  • 10-12 week commitment
  • CASAS Reading test score of 228+
  • TABE D Reading test score of 6.0-12.5

 

Upon successful completion of the class learners have the option of taking the ServSafe® Exam, which is adminstered at the Hubbs Center. There is a $40.00 exam fee. Once the learner has passed the exam they can apply for the Minnesota Certified Food Manager license, a $35.00 fee.
