In April 2022, the USDA Food and Nutrition Service notified state agencies and providers of Child Nutrition Programs steps to seek a waiver of statutory or regulatory program requirements (USDA FNS Memo, Child Nutrition Program Waivers Request Guidance and Protocol-Revised, SP15-2018, CACFP 12-2018, May 24, 2018).

As part of the waiver request, state Child Nutrition Programs and providers are required to notify the public.  Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) and Minnesota Department of Education Food and Nutrition are seeking a waiver request to allow SPPS to use a streamline method to establish Provision 2 breakfast meal counting and claiming percentages for nine schools.  Specific information is outlined in the waiver request available here.
