Welcome to First Grade at Wellstone!
Hello! My name is Tina Woods and I am excited to be teaching my third year at Wellstone Elementary. I have experience in teaching grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade over the last 21 years in the St. Paul School District. I began my teaching career in Hawaii after serving in the United States Navy. I served as a member of deck crew aboard ship and as a Hospital Corpsman. My core values are strong in honesty, dedication, and commitment.
First grade is an exciting learning year, showing continuous progress. Students change academically so much in one year. Students will learn to read, write, and solve math problems, while navigating life skills of respect, responsibility, and safety. I look forward to working with my students and their families in this new school year!
Outside of school, I like to spend my time with my two daughters, grandson, and husband. I love to read, do water aerobics, and enjoy time in the sun. I recently earned a Masters of Arts in English as a Second Language at St. Mary’s University. We are never too old to get an education. I learn new things daily!
