Mr. Felix Versaguis

Felix Versaguis - Spanish Teacher

I came to the United States from my native country of Cuba 30 years ago. After arriving to South Florida in a home-made raft, I lived in Miami— a city that offered me an environment somehow similar to my home country. Two years later, I moved to Mankato, MN to attend Mankato State University (now known as Minnesota State University Mankato). In 1995, I earned my bachelor degree in Spanish with an Athletic Coaching minor. In 1997, I walked the stage once again for another graduation ceremony; this time I received my Master of Science in Spanish with emphasis in Hispanic-American Literature. Since then, I have been working as a Spanish Teacher in High Schools and Colleges around Minnesota. This will be my 6th year at Johnson High School and I can’t be happier to be here. The diversity of our student’s population, in addition to the friendly atmosphere of our staff, makes my days at Johnson very pleasant. I am teaching Spanish level I and II. Our classes are very interactive, hands-on, and engaging. My classroom is an open, safe, and fun environment in which students will thrive. In addition to being a Spanish teacher, I am the Track and Field Head Coach for Boys and Girls.
