As a speech language pathologist (SLP), I have enjoyed working in St. Paul Public Schools for over 20 years. I have worked in a variety of programs, including Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Special Needs Kindergarten-1st (SNK-1), Deaf and Hard-of Hearing (DHH), Austim, Developmental Cognitive Disorder (DCD), as well as regular education classes in various elementary and middle schools. I assess and work with students who have special needs in the areas of articulation, language, voice, fluency (stuttering) and pragmatics (social language). My work with students addresses their special needs and their Speaking and Listening standards, with the ultimate goal of increasing their skills for effective communication and learning.
While I enjoy my work in the Twin Cities, I also treasure my country home in River Falls, Wisconsin. I live on a small farm with my husband and two daughters.
Since receiving my degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Minnesota, I have been an active member of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). This organization is a valuable resource for all topics (presented in English and Spanish) related to communication disorders. Other helpful resources are listed below. Also, please feel free to contact me if you should have any questions about speech and language development, special education services, or related issues.
