Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Kim Carter
Hello Barack and Michelle Obama Families!
My name is Kim Carter and I am the full time Speech-Language Pathologist that works at Barack and Michelle Obama Elementary. The students that I work with all have some type of communication disorder, including Articulation (how sounds/words are produced), Receptive Language (how they understand language), Expressive Language (how they express their wants/needs and ideas), Fluency (stuttering) or Voice (Quality of their voice).
I graduated with my Undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba with a major in Psychology and my Masters degree in Communication Disorders, from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
I have been working as a Speech Pathologist for over twenty years and I have had the opportunity to work with children through adults in a variety of settings.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters or playing with my dog Benson.
My goal is to help each and every student be successful with understanding language and using their speech and language skills to be effective and confident communicators.
Feel free to contact me at any time if you have any concerns with your child’s speech and language skills.
I am in the building Monday, Wednesday and Fridays all day and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. You can reach me by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (651)293-8625.
I look forward to working with you and your student(s) this school year.
