This is Ms. Wood’s 13th year as an EL teacher and her first year at EXPO Elementary School. Allison has been an EL teacher at Highwood Hills Elementary School in St. Paul for the past three years. Prior to working for the Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS), Allison was an elementary EL teacher in the Osseo Area School District for nine years. Ms. Wood has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her licensure and Master of Arts in Teaching Degree from Hamline University.
Outside of school, Ms. Wood enjoys reading, shopping and spending time outdoors. She loves to travel with her family and spends school breaks and vacations all over the country, especially at beach or mountain destinations. Allison likes coffee, flamingos, lip gloss and singing loudly in her car.
Allison’s husband, Chris, is also an educator in SPPS. They have a 9-year old son named William and a rescue dog named Audrey Pearl. Ms. Wood and her family recently built a home and reside in the Northeast metro area. On nice evenings they can usually be found relaxing on their back patio.
The educator is excited to be a part of the academic and social growth that students will experience this school year. She is eager to meet the EXPO Elementary students, families, staff and community.
