Ms. Zambreno

I love Duluth!
  • Greetings! I am excited to be teaching 6th grade physical science this year. I am in my 15th year of teaching and in my 2nd year here at Capitol Hill. I hope that I fulfill all of your expectations as an engaging, caring, and dedicated teacher.

Before I became a teacher, I received a Master's degree in Horticultural Science from the University of Minnesota and did research on grapes and apple trees. This experience gave me the chance to do research, work with amazing scientists (like the people who brought us Honeycrisp apples!) and teach labs to undergraduates. This was where I found my passion for teaching. I decided to focus on middle school students and went to Hamline University to earn my teaching license. I love the enthusiasm and creativity these students bring to the classroom. I am always looking for ways to keep my classes excited and learning about science through meaningful engineering projects, labs, and class discussions and debates.

My husband of 22 years is an Associate Superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools. We have three wonderful children who are 13, 11, and 9. This year I have my two daughters here at Captiol Hill and their brother is soon to follow. I love to travel, garden, cook great meals for my family and friends, and go boating in the summer.

If at anytime you have questions or concerns about your child's progress or what we are doing in class, please feel free to contact me. Email is the best way to reach me. Otherwise, you can call me at school and leave a message with the best time to call you back.
