Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Chelsey Luciow
My name is Ms. Chelsey Luciow and I am a new teacher this year at Crossroads! I have the pleasure of teaching on the Montessori team in an E1 classroom. The students in my room will be first, second, and third graders. Together we will work on Math concepts, using Montessori materials as a tool for conceptual understanding. I am passionate about literacy and helping each student recognize their abilities as readers and authors. In our classroom community we will work together as cooperative partners to teach one another and raise each other up. Above all, my hopes and dreams this year are for each student in my classroom to feel included and know that they are a vital part of our classroom family.
I studied with Minnesota State University Mankato and received honors for academics. I graduated in May of 2018 with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I traveled to SanDiego the summer of 2018 to partake in math and geometry Montessori training. I have also had training in courageous conversations and racial equity. I am always looking to learn more ways to improve my teaching.
I am a teacher, a mother, and an artist. I find ways to incorporate art in my life everyday, and I look forward to providing opportunities for my class to use art as a means of communication and understanding. I live in Minneapolis with my family. We love to read, look for rocks in creeks and beaches, and make things into art.
This is going to be a great year!
