Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Anne Hennessey
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Anne Hennessey and I will have been working at Crossroads since 2018.
I am a graduate student from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. I received my degree in Elementary Education in December of 2016. I currently have a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in early childhood.
I am married and have seven children and 6 grandchildren. Prior to entering graduate school to complete my teacher licensure, I taught preschool for over 30 years.
One of the most important things for me as a teacher is the involvement of parents. The following quote exemplifies the importance of parents’ involvement in their student’s education. “...direct parent involvement in instruction seems to be the single most powerful approach for fostering achievement benefits, all of the active forms of parent involvement seem more or less equally effective in bringing about improvements in students' attitudes and behavior. “ This quotation was taken from an article written by Kathleen Cotton and Karen Reed Wikelund called, “Parent Involvement in Education.” I think that this stresses the importance of parent involvement in their child’s academic career at any level. It is my goal to keep parents involved in their child's studies in any way I can.
Please do not hesitate to stop in, call or email me if you have time, as I would welcome the opportunity to get to know you along with your child. I can be reached by phone at 651-767-8540 extension 48430 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
