    About the School Day

The Downtown School is part of the Saint Paul Public Schools. Following a court appearance, any resident remaining is enrolled. Depending on each students' personal situation, it is our goal to academically support their efforts to . . .

    Catch-up, Keep-up, Move-up!

The school day is from 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM. Four core subject areas are covered daily: English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, students receive classes in Career-Technology Education, Physical Education, College / Technical awareness, positive sexual health, and social / emotional health.

Courses are taught by licensed Saint Paul School teachers.

We are able to provide in-person, virtual, and on-line learning. To supplement our instruction, we use Edgenuity - an on-line curriculum which provides us with access to a wide variety of subjects and coursework. Special Education services are provided to qualifiying students.

30-hours of classroom instruction, or approximately 10-weeks of study, equals 1 full credit. Your child's home school can determine how credits earned at the Downtown School can apply towards fulfilling graduation requirements.
