2021-2022 MEAL SERVICE
Meals for Students Learning in Person
For the 2021-2022 school year, breakfast and lunch will be free for all students. Students who bring lunch from home can also get a meal from the cafeteria. Students must pick at least 3 items (such as a fruit, vegetable and milk) to receive free lunch. Students can still purchase milk separately for $0.50. Menus are available at schoolcafe.com/spps/menus.
Individual schools/programs will determine how meals will be served in cafeterias and/or classrooms. Students and staff are required to wear masks when they are not eating or drinking. Assigned seating will be required during meals.
Breakfast to Go will continue, with pre-packaged meals to be eaten in the classroom. Lunch will be served in reusable containers with lids rather than on traditional lunch trays, and table decals will mark designated seating locations in cafeterias. Staff will monitor safety protocols throughout the lunch period, including lining up and dismissal.
