Hello! I am Kristin Simonson, a science teacher at Parkway Montessori Middle School.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in urban education from Metropolitan State University and a master’s degree in secondary Montessori education from River Falls, Wisconsin. As a Montessori science teacher, I enjoy planning many hands-on, engaging lab activities as well as outdoor investigations and adventures. I look forward to our field studies with our community of learners, exploring our Parkway forest, establishing a thriving school garden, and continuing to learn about our world and universe with students. When I am not at school, I enjoy everything in the great outdoors! I love spending time up North, swimming, kayaking, hiking and gardening.
“Scientific observation has established that education is not what the teacher gives; education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment.”
