Meet your Health Office staff!

  • Hi, my name is Yia Leepalao and this is my 6th year as the school nurse for Humboldt Secondary. Nursing is actually my second career. After many years of working as a paraprofessional with the district, I decided I needed a change, but I wanted to stay in the public health sector. School nursing provided me that. I cannot imagine doing anything else. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and traveling. My last international trip was to South Korea and Japan and I cannot wait to resume my adventures.

My name is Lena Tollefson.  I work as a health assistant LPN here at Humboldt Secondary.  I have been an LPN for 13 years and recently joined SPPS last school year.  My hometown is Saint Paul, Minnesota.  I'm married and have three daughters.  I like to garden and take my dogs on walks.  I also love to cook and bake.  I want to help others and keep everyone healthy.  I love my job and look forward to connecting and helping students and families.
