Ms. San Da Aung
San Da Aung was born in Burma, grew up in a refugee camp in Thailand, and moved with her family to the United States in 2009; settling in Minnesota. Ms. Aung graduated from the Saint Paul Public Schools and then attended the College of Saint Catherine majoring in English and earning a minor in teaching ESL. San Da began working at Johnson High School in 2019 and is currently employed at both Wellstone and Mississippi Elementary Schools.
When not working as an Educational Assistant who is multilingual in Karen, Burmese, and English, the educator likes to spend time with her family cooking together and watching movies, reading mysteries and adventures, and writing. A lifelong passion of hers is to become an inspirational writer or storyteller. San Da loves to learn and is teaching herself computer animation to incorporate into her storytelling.
Ms. Aung comes from a family of seven girls and is the second to the youngest. In the summer, she enjoy going on day road trips with her sisters and fishing at various locations.
San Da is guided by a quote by Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher and writer, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
