Hello. My name is Ms. Thao, one of your English language teachers. I'm your new EL teacher at SPMA. I will be supporting students with academic language development. Cultural understanding and motivation for learning language are keys to success in my book! Students and families are important to me. Support from home for education is immense in the work I do. I love that our students come from many different cultures with many different languages spoken. I speak Hmong, Spanish, and English! Thus, I'm glad to be a part of the diversity at school. My multilingual/second language acquisition learners are valuable to me. Let's have a wonderful school year! Thank you!
Education and Family: I have my Master's Degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas, K-12 English as a Second Language. In my free time, I like to spend it with my family. My son, husband, and I live in Oakdale, MN. We have a responsibility from our culture in Hmong custom to take care of our elders and parents, participate in extended family social events schedule, and keep a flower and vegetable garden at our home.
Please contact me with questions you may have during school hours.
