Teachers in grades K-3 use Seesaw to engage with students while on their iPad, provide learning activities, and organize their lessons. Students and teachers can create and collaborate safely under their teacher's supervision.
Teachers in grades 4-12 utilize features in Schoology to build digital information for their courses, organize assignments and their gradebook. In addition, St Paul Public Schools use Schoology to provide professional development, house resources, and communicate with all staff.
In a 1:1 environment, it is critical that we build knowledge and skills about responsible technology use. These required lessons help teachers deliver important content and build skills for students as they practice safe and appropriate behaviors.
St Paul will leverage our ability to learn from home a few times a year. These digital learning days will allow students to learn from home, supported by their teachers, when our buildings are in use by the community. Digital learning days will include a mix of virtual (live) instruction with teachers and classmates and independent learning.
Secondary level students assist with technology integration as well as build their own knowledge and skills with technology. Students work at their school help desk, take courses and provide support for professional development. Some elementary schools have Genius Squads available for upper elementary students as well.
