Nyob zoo!

This is an exciting year to be at a new Saint Paul Public middle school.  My name is Chivouayi Lo.  I am the Hmong Language Program Coordinator.  My role as coordinator is to support our students and teachers at HLCMS to reclaim, learn, and sustain the Hmong language and culture.  I have been a teacher for over 20+ years in Saint Paul Public Schools in elementary classrooms and taught Hmong language and English to high school students. I have collaborated with teachers from all grades K-12.  I received my undergraduate degree, my Bachelor of Arts, from the University of Minnesota and I have a Masters in Education from the University of St. Thomas.  My goal is to inspire others to be curious, to act on new possibilities and to have a voice.

This year, my hope is that our school will grow and prosper, meeting students' needs and raising the rigor and expectations for excellence.  I believe we are all learners with a growth mindset and learning from our mistakes is a part of that process.  I'm excited to see the young and happy faces of a new school each day as they learn about themselves and their world around them as they become their own person.
