  • Hello All!

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with so many Horace Mann students and families this year! I will primarily be working with 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade students, but I am always ready to jump in where needed. This is my 10th year as a teacher in Saint Paul Public Schools. Previously, I worked at Adams Spanish Immersion, and while I love speaking Spanish and the language immersion model, I am excited for the chance to engage with students in a new way. My goal is to create and support a community where all students feel welcome, receive the individualized attention they need to succeed, and continue on the path to lifelong learning.

I was born near Missoula, MT but moved to New York City soon after, then on to Upstate New York. I came to Minnesota to attend Macalester College where I studied Spanish and Education Policy. I began teaching at Adams in 2008 and achieved my Masters in Teaching from Hamline University in 2011. I took a few years off after the birth of my second child, but now that my older daughter is in 1st grade at Horace Mann and my younger daughter will be starting kindergarten here in the fall, I knew I was ready to get back in the classroom. I live just a few blocks from the school and some of you may already know me as a neighbor or friend. If not, please don’t hesitate to say hello if our paths cross at hockey, t-ball, yoga, gymnastics.... Or any of the many community activities my family participates in! In my free time, I enjoy traveling, gardening, yoga, and walking our dog Maisy.

I am returning to the classroom with more deference than ever for the unique role that a teacher can play in their students’ lives. I do not take that responsibility lightly. It is truly an honor to invest in the success of our schools, our students and their families.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this school year.
