My name is Leah Geier (Wolf) and I am one of the Speech Language Pathologists at Horace Mann School and Highland Park Elementary School. I see students who are identified as having speech and language deficits on my caseload. I believe that speech and language skills are powerful and essential to all areas of life. I feel honored to come alongside each student and their family and it is one of my goals to make communication less daunting. I strive to support every child that I work with so that they can share their ideas and grow to reach their potential in the classroom and beyond.
I recently moved to Minneapolis from Pittsburgh where I completed my graduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh as well as my clinical externships. I have worked in a skilled nursing facility, a hospital, private practice, and elementary schools. It is my passion to work with children in the amazing, collaborative and supportive environment that schools aim to cultivate.
My role at Horace Mann and Highland Park Elementary, allows me to work as part of a team together with parents and teachers to identify students who need speech and language services and help students use their communication skills across all settings. I work with students to address a variety of areas in the school setting including: articulation, expressive and receptive language, social communication, stuttering, and voice. Our speech and language services are individualized to meet the needs of every student who is eligible to receive services so that they can improve their skills and we can empower confident and equipped communicators.
In my life outside of school, I recently got married and enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love exploring the beautiful state of Minnesota. I love visiting new coffee shops, going shopping, cooking/baking, being around animals, traveling, and spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and recharging by the lakes. I also enjoy being creative and doing art projects, photography, or decorating in my free time.
