Welcome back everyone to the 2016 school year! I am very excited to be seeing you all.

I grew up in Carver County, and attended a tiny elementary school called East Union, with a whopping 180 kids in the entire school. East Union was part of the Chaska School District (now called the Eastern Carver County district). I had a great time and actually graduated at 16 years old (a year and a half early) after skipping a grade and attending PSEO full time my senior year.

For college I studied at the University of Morris, and used that school as a spring board to study globally as well. While attending Morris, I also studied at Akita International University in Northern Japan, Kansai Gaidai University in Central Japan, and Instituto de Cultura y Lengua Costarricense in central Costa Rica.

After graduating from Morris with a Bachelor's in Anthropology I moved to Vermont for 3 years where I worked as a classroom aid at a school called OnTop, an alternative program for students with behavioral disorders, and Burlington High School as a 1-on-1 helper for twice exceptional students.

After returning to Minnesota, I enrolled in the University of Minnesota and recieved a Master's of Social Studies Education.

I enjoy traveling, and the arts in my personal time. This summer I travelled to Washington DC, the hills of Vermont, and Oakland/San Francisco California. My personal passion, when I'm not teaching or travelling, is making time to create art projects and learning new skills like woodworking and ceramics.

I have been delighted to get to know Capitol Hill Students these last few years and look forward to working with our kids and families this year!
