5/10 at Washington would like to invite Middle School students to participate in Flipside this year!Flipside is excited to announce we will be offering our program through distance learning! This free program strives to provide engaging enrichment opportunities and academic support for middle school students. Flipside is funded through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant and provide programming at the following schools:
American Indian Murray Middle
Farnsworth Upper Ramsey Middle
Humboldt /OWL Washington TechnologyDue to the district being in distance learning, we have changed our model to ensure we can still serve as many young people as possible. During distance learning, American Indian Magnet and Farnsworth Upper will serve students in grades 5-8. All other schools will serve students in grades 6-8. For detailed information please visit www.spps.org/flipside
Free Virtual Classes: The entire fall session of Flipside will be done virtually, even if the district enters into a hybrid model. We will offer some programs that all students attending the schools listed above may attend, as well as programs that are specific to the school you attend.
Watch your email and Schoology closely for upcoming registration for our programs.
Free Activity Kits: Many of our classes require materials to complete the work or projects. Any materials needed will be delivered to students prior to the start of class. Youth participating in programs will also receive a family activity kit once a month to engage the whole family in fun activities!
Flipside Program Advisory: We would love to get input from both youth and adults about how our program can improve or best serve your family. Please email your schools Coordinator or visit us during our office hours on Google Meets to learn more about this opportunity.
Program Evaluation Information: The Flipside afterschool program continually works to improve the program quality and experience for students in order to reach intended outcomes. Parents are given the option to to have their child participate in evaluation activities upon registering for the program. If you choose not to participate in program evaluation activities, please sign and return the form below to your school office. The student survey is also listed below for your review.
